Osteo Family Christmas

For Christmas our class decided to do a Secret Santa gift exchange and have a big dinner together. The "secret" part didn't last too long, but we had a great time anyway!

Our dinner took place at Susan's house because she is the only one without a ton of roommates (she just lives with her boyfriend).

Presents!!

Food!! I brought Kraft mac n cheese and green bean casserole. Both went over quite well :)

Then we started with the crackers!

Zoe preparing some delicious dessert!

Gift exchange time!!

I got Christmas socks.

And a beautiful scarf!

Now, Gereme was in a little bit of trouble with a couple of the girls so his gift was a bit mean...

Yup, that's a bunny onesie with a heart on the butt.

And we made him wear it for the rest of the night.

Susan got an adorable hot water bottle cover.

Fiona got hand tattoos so we all put them on!

She kinda messed that one up...

Meringues!

Lemon tart!

Class picture!

Zoe got an awesome owl pillow.

At the end of the night we finally let him take it off.

And we made a lovely flower for the host out of a cracker hat :)

So that was our Christmas party! We had a great time and it was all a success. Now, I've got to get going. Leaving for home in just about an hour and a half!

Clonmacnoise

The last stop on the archaeology society trip was Clonmacnoise. This is pretty much the best preserved ecclesiastical site in Ireland. And it is BEAUTIFUL.

This is the ruins of a tower house near Clonmacnoise.

This statue represents how many of the people were feeling that morning. Thankfully, I left the pub early the night before with a few others, so we spent a lot of the day making fun of everyone else.

Inside of the museum they have the original high crosses that this site is so famous for. The ones now standing outside are replicas so that the originals dont continue to age.

Dont let the sunny sky deceive you...it was FREEZING.

This is one of the replica high crosses.

This is the whispering arch. It was so that people could go to confession and stand on either side of the arch and whisper to each other without passing along diseases.

Two of the girls on the trip demonstrated.

The other high cross replica.

And as we left we made friends with a local dog that tried to make it onto the bus with us!

That's the end of the society field trip. It was quite a long weekend, but it was definitely awesome!

I will try to get one more post finished before I head out in just...3 hours!!!
