The Goodbyes Begin

Sorry I haven't posted anything in a while. I've been busy studying, and when I wasn't studying, I was traveling.

A couple of weeks ago our EAP adviser came to visit in Cork and took the UC kids out to dinner. It was pretty fancy, but we managed to have a silly, fun time, much to Michael's disgust...and his wife's amusement.

This is Caroline from UC Davis. I think I have about 3 pictures of her in which she is not making this face from the whole year.

Ashley (UC Davis) and Amanda (UC Santa Cruz).
Maria (UC Berkeley) and me.

Later that night we went out with some people for their last night/weekend in Cork. This is Jenna with Andrew. Andrew left the next day.

Kate and Alex. Kate left 3 days later.

There was a downpour when we left the bar. I have never been more soaked from rain in Ireland.

I know this post is super short, but there wasn't too much to say. In the next couple of days I'll be posting pictures from Galway and Belfast, as well as more fairwell festivities!

Poor Camera...

The other night was a birthday party for my flatmate, Laura, who is turning 20 (technically tomorrow) and while we were out my camera broke. The button that you push to take a picture disappeared. My friend figured out how to rig it up with a bobby pin to take a picture so that's how we did it the rest of the night, but yesterday I came up with a slightly better solution. Now it has a piece of paper clip with some foil taped on top of it. Very classy. Here are a couple of pictures of it, but not very good ones. I took them with my computer since it's obviously difficult to take a picture of a camera.

The good news is that, for now at least, the camera works. Hopefully it stays that way.

In other news, my internet is broken. I can get online in the kitchen, but it's slightly frustrating not being able to do anything in my own room. In addition tomorrow is a bank holiday so I wont be able to get it fixed until at least Tuesday. Sad times.

Well, I want to get back to my room so I'm keeping this short. Hopefully everything will get fixed soon!
